Training programme overview

The Nuts & Bolts of School Business Management is a comprehensive training programme (ideal for Leadership Teams, School Administration Staff and Governors) that is delivered over three independent modules.

Whether you are an academy or a school, many of the recent initiatives introduced by the Department for Education (DfE) and the Education Funding Agency (EFA) have increased the autonomy you experience. Whilst this may have been advantageous in some ways, it has also seen an increase in the level, detail and amount of information School Administrators are being asked to produce to give assurances that resources are being effectively managed.

The impact of these changes is often felt more so at primary school level where the size and make-up of the School Administration Team can make meeting the new requirements a challenge.

We have experience of delivering a wide range of support services and training including; Internal Audit, Bursarial Support and finance training to primary schools of all sizes across the country.

Testimonials

Financial planning, communication and reporting module

''I attended the course to obtain relevant, up to date information. HCSS Education as usual fully fulfilled the requirement and provided me with useful resources.''
Annette Wilkinson, School Business Manager, Birchills CE Community Academy

''As a primary school due to convert to an academy it was very useful to see the difference between a maintained school and an academy.''
Laura Shaw, Business Manager, St John's CofE Primary Academy

''I gained a better understanding of financial management within schools and I was attracted to the course from a perspective of a Governor.''
Tony Orbell, Governor, Pheasey Park Farm Primary School

"It was nice to share experiences and practises from academy to mainstream school. It helped to clarify procedures and documents and to help with smooth operations within our school."
Tina Dean, Willoughton Primary School

"The presenters were very knowledgeable and the opportunity to network with other Business Managers was really useful. Thank you to both gentlemen for actually making education funding interesting!
The time to network was fantastic - I suspect we took longer than we should have but it was great to have the opportunity. I think the presentation was spot on by both Paul and James. It was very interactive and they seemed genuinely interested in how we operated financially in our schools/academies.”
Carol Shaw, Waltham Leas Primary Academy
