1) .Net Web Developer

As a Developer in our Technical Services team, you will take a high level view of projects and applications, dealing with the full product lifecycle.  This key role is primarily focused on leading, designing, coding and developing our web based financial planning software, as well as new products - with a specific focus on web based applications - to ensure we remain the market leader.  The role is based at our Head Office just outside Macclesfield in Cheshire.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • 3-4 years commercial experience using VB.Net, C#.Net and MS SQL.
  • Experience of working with Visual Studio (2008 and 2010), SQL Management Studio/SQL Server and Visual SourceSafe/Team Foundation Server.
  • Good technical skills in ASP.Net, VB.Net/C#.Net, AJAX, Javascript, Web Services, SQL Server, T-SQL, SQL Scripting/Stored Procedures, CSS, HTML and XML.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Structured and clear thinking with the ability to prioritise a demanding workload.
  • Excellent team working and interpersonal skills and successful cooperative working
  • Excellent face to face and written communication skills.
  • Experience of knowledge sharing with technical colleagues.
  • A customer focused approach.
  • The ability to quickly learn and adapt to the education finance sector

2) Consultant

We are looking to recruit someone who, like us, is passionate about delivering excellent customer service, to join our team as a Consultant. The position is based from our Head Office in Macclesfield; however as our clients are all over the UK, a willingness to regularly travel around the UK is essential.

The main responsibilities of the role will be:

  • Delivering education finance consultancy to schools and academies, including conducting the responsible officer program in academies and financial year end procedures in schools.
  • Training and supporting clients, particularly Academy staff, in the use of the HCSS financial planning software and on other education finance topics
  • Deliver training and financial updates to delegates typically business managers and finance officers 
  • Taking a lead role in Local Authority software implementation projects, including significant client liaison, working with our Technical team
  • Assisting with the development of new and existing products

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be AAT or CipFA qualified
  • Have experience in education finance ideally internal audit procedures
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills (particularly verbal)
  • Be highly numerate and comfortable working with detailed financial information
  • Have high level MS Office skills, particularly MS Excel
  • Be confident and effective working alone and as part of a team
  • Have excellent organisation and time management skills

As important as your skills and experience are your enthusiasm and drive.

Please note this role will require an enhanced CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure.
