How many users can access the software?
Only one user can access the software on each PC at one time. However you can set up many different accounts, enabling multiple users’ access to the software using their own log in details.
Can the software be loaded onto a server?
No, the software can only be installed onto local machines. However the scenario files created within FPSadvance.Net can be saved onto network drives and accessed from different machines.
How is the software loaded onto my PC?
After ordering FPSadvance.Net within a couple of days you will receive a CD. Simply put this CD into your CD drive and an installation wizard will automatically appear.
Does your software link to any daily accounting packages?
Yes - The software links into multiple accounting packages such as SIMS, FMS and RM Finance. For further information, please call our Business Development team who can provide you with more information.
What happens when I get a new version of the software - will I need to re-enter data?
No, when upgrading FPSadvance.Net to the next financial year, all data can be copied across into the new software version.
How secure is the data?
Your schools financial data is saved in external scenario files. These files are password protected and can only be accessed from within the software, which is also password protected.
How much room do the saved files take up?
The external scenario files take up just over 2mb and can also be stored onto a USB drive.
Is there a limit to the number of scenario files I can have?
No, you can create as many scenario files as you like.
What is scenario planning and why is it important?
Scenario planning involves the creation of a number of different budget plans (‘what if’ scenarios) based on different assumptions. The most popular ‘what if’ scenarios look at variations in the pupil number projections, staffing numbers or changes to inflation factors (including pay scales and Section 52 data).

Yes, the software will run fine on Windows 7. However if you are running a 64 bit operating system,
please ensure that you are using Version 4.0.2.0 or later of FPSadvance.Net, otherwise you may
